Technical Data
The skirt of the drill bit is made from 45CrNiMoVA alloy steel, which undergoes heat treatment to achieve a hardness level of approximately HRC43–48.
For the carbide buttons, we use either YK05 or Element Six tungsten carbide, depending on customer requirements. YK05 is a widely used, cost-effective grade suitable for standard top hammer drilling applications.
The carbide button shapes include spherical, ballistic.
Spherical buttons are ideal for hard and abrasive rock due to their excellent durability.
Ballistic buttons provide faster penetration but have lower impact resistance, making them suitable for soft to medium formations.
For superior retention, hot-pressing technology is used to insert the tungsten carbide buttons. This process ensures a secure fit, minimizing the risk of button loss during high-impact operations and significantly extending the bit's service life compared to cold-press methods.
