Warranty Policy
At GDRILLS, we stand behind the quality of our products and are committed to providing fair and transparent support in the event of any product issues. The following warranty terms are provided to ensure our customers clearly understand the conditions under which warranty claims may be made.
Full compensation coverage under below conditions
A metallographic analysis confirms that a shank adapter broke due to defects in heat treatment or material quality.
A shank adapter fails during use, provided the failure is not due to improper installation (e.g., loose coupling or misalignment between the shank adapter or rod and the coupling).
01
Fracture Analysis
If a shank adapter breaks, we welcome you to send it to us for inspection. However, if the fracture shows signs of adhesion, laceration, or blackening, the damage will be considered to have resulted from insufficient lubriaction, and compensation will not be offered.
02
Early Failure in Bulk Orders
If, during the initial use of a bulk order, the first three shank adapters are damaged in the same way, please contact us or your supplier immediately and stop using the rest of the products. We will respond quickly and may offer a replacement or other solution. If the remaining products are used without notifying us, we cannot take responsibility for any resulting issues.
03
Warranty Claim Procedure
In the event of any of the above issues, please return the damaged product promptly to our technical team for evaluation. We aim to provide a formal response within one week, in line with our service standards.
For return shipments, distributors or agents must provide a written report from the end user describing the quality issue.
04
Dispute Resolution
If any dispute arises that is not covered by the conditions above, please send the remaining parts of the shank adapter back to GDRILLS. We will work with you in good faith to resolve the matter through friendly negotiation.
05
Limitation of Liability
Unless otherwise stated in this policy:
GDRILLS is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, such as lost profits, business interruptions, or data loss.
The total liability of GDRILLS under any contract will not exceed the value of the specific contract related to the claim.
These limitations apply even if GDRILLS was informed of the possibility of such damages and regardless of the legal basis of the claim (contract, negligence, tort, etc.).
All claims must be brought within one year from the date the issue arises.
No GDRILLS employee or agent is authorized to offer any warranty beyond what is written here.
Any technical specifications or brochures are for reference only and should not be interpreted as warranty statements.

Maintenance Tips for Shank Adapters
Sourcing a high-durability striking bar is only the first step toward lowering your project's cost-per-meter. Montabert hydraulic drifters (such as the HC50, HC109, and HC158 series) operate using highly sensitive progressive percussive wave signatures. Running a shank adapter past its mechanical wear limits converts this precision machinery into a destructive friction file-rapidly grinding down your drifter's internal bronze bushings and high-cost rotation chucks. Implement the preventive tracking blueprints below to secure your equipment's operational lifespan.
Lifecycle Diagnostics: How to Evaluate Spline Wear Profile Limits
The driving splines on the tail section of your Montabert shank absorb immense twisting torque and sudden directional shifts. Visually auditing these gear teeth during every bit change or shift transition is the most effective way to prevent catastrophic internal drifter failure. Follow this engineering diagnosis matrix:
1. Identifying Step-Wear Micro-Grooves
Run your finger along the vertical driving flanks of the splines. If you detect a noticeable "step" or indented shelf where the rotation chuck contacts the tooth face, the steel has entered its terminal fatigue phase. Continued operation under heavy torque will cause these steps to act as crack propagation points, leading to sudden structural shearing at the root of the spline.
2. The 25% Dimensional Mass Threshold
Use a vernier caliper to measure the cross-sectional thickness of the spline teeth. Once a drive spline has lost 25% to 30% of its original factory structural thickness, the shank adapter must be immediately replaced. Exceeding this clearance creates excessive rotational backlash (配合间隙过大), creating high-impact side loads that can shatter the drifter's internal rotation sleeve and strip the main internal drive gears.
3. Tracking Spline Surface Micro-Spalling
Inspect the spline surfaces under bright light for pitting, scaling, or a dull gray, frosted appearance. This indicates severe contact stress fatigue caused by lubrication breakdown or high-pressure drilling. If micro-spalling covers more than 15% of the contact tooth area, surface armor failure is imminent, and the part should be scheduled for rapid bench replacement.
Holistic Preventive Maintenance Checklist for Montabert Systems
To secure the Extended Service Life engineered into every Gdrills premium component, enforce these four operational site protocols:
Monitor Piston Striking Face Mushrooming
Regularly check the flat face where the drifter piston strikes the shank. Any concave deformation (cupping) or convex spreading (mushrooming) exceeding 0.50 mm requires immediate removal. A deformed striking face prevents flat, parallel stress-wave transmission, sending dangerous reflected energy waves back through your internal drill train components.
Audit Water & Fluid Packing Erosion
Inspect the central flushing section and the lateral oil seal lands for score marks or circumferential grooving. If the shaft outer diameter drops below original specification tolerances, hydraulic fluid or water bypass will occur, contaminating your drifter's front-head lubrication circuit and risking high-cost component damage.
Maintain Strict Lubrication Film Pressure
Ensure your rig's air-oil mist lubrication system is delivering clean, consistent pressure to the front head chuck. The spline area should always carry a visible, fresh film of heavy rock drill oil to reduce friction heat and prevent early structural galling.
Enforce Hard-Rock Replacement Rotations
While actual lifespan depends on rock hardness (UCS), tracking total drilled meters is essential for predictive maintenance planning. Use our standardized site tracking baseline below:
| Geological Formation Type | Average Compressive Strength (UCS) | Recommended Wear Inspection Interval | Targeted Replacement Window (Meters) |
| Highly Abrasive / Hard Rock (Granite, Quartzite) | >180 MPa | Every 1-2 Operational Shifts | 2,500 m – 4,000 m |
| Medium / Competent Rock (Hard Limestone, Basalt) | 100 MPa -180 MPa | Every 3-4 Operational Shifts | 4,500 m – 7,000 m |
| Soft / Non-Abrasive Rock (Shale, Soft Limestone) | <100 MPa | Weekly Fleet Maintenance Check | 8,000 m – 12,000 m |
"Don't Turn a Wear Part Into a Fleet Wrecking Ball" "Running an aftermarket shank adapter past its verified 25% spline wear limit doesn't save project budget-it risks a massive $6,000 internal overhaul on your Montabert HC109 or HC158 drifter. Gdrills bridges the gap between premium component durability and onsite mechanical safety. By combining our precision Ni-Cr-Mo metallurgical engineering with transparent wear-limit transparency, we help your site crews maximize tool service life while completely eliminating catastrophic machine downtime.
